So, I ask, does it mean body is the temple?
He says, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
Therefore honour God with your body”
Thus I create my Temple of lust, sin and incongruity.
Body is the realm to discern socio-political, historical, cultural, linguistic, psychological, sexual margins. From religion, art to advertisement, body is personified either as an object of glamour or as a glorified means to enter into the divine or fantasy world. Specially, women bodies are commercialised in purity and beauty packaging. I conceive body as ordinary, it decays, deforms. The body and mind is in conflict everyday. In my work, food items symbolised the violence of sensualisation and the slangs related to body organ & food. I took an androgynous approach where the masculine or feminine poses, symbols, features are the exploration of the conceptual body.
